Has Your New Year’s Resolution Stuck?

30 days in and where are you at?

If, like many smokers, your New Year’s Resolution was to quit smoking, one of three things has probably happened to you by now.

1. Congratulations, you’ve smashed it!

You’re 30 days smoke free and feeling great. You feel lighter, more energised, less anxious, you can breathe again, your mind is clearer, your eyes are white and your skin is glowing.
There’s nothing to do now other than enjoy your smoke free future and unsubscribe from our e-mails!

2. You’re going pretty well but still counting the days and feeling a bit deprived.

Good on you for getting this far but it hasn’t been easy. You’re still getting cravings, are avoiding other smokers and let’s be honest, would kill for a cigarette.

This is what we call the willpower method (and this includes NRT – patches, gum, sprays, lozenges, vaping) where we feel that we’re making a sacrifice and the cravings just keep coming.

The only way to be a happy non-smoker is to have no desire to smoke and to do that you need to understand that there are no benefits whatsoever to smoking.

3. Uh oh, you’re still smoking 🙁

Okay, so it hasn’t quite gone to plan this time and you’re still smoking.
Don’t beat yourself up; it’s understandable.

Quitting smoking is hard unless you have the mindset of a non-smoker.
A non-smoker has no desire to smoke as they see no benefits to smoking.

Ask yourself, what is it that you enjoy about smoking?

When I tried to quit, still believing I was ‘giving something up’, I felt miserable and deprived and continued to crave cigarettes.

When I quit with Allen Carr’s Easyway my understanding and perspective changed, I no longer craved cigarettes and I finally felt happy and free.

“The real difference between a smoker and non smoker is not how long they’ve gone without smoking but whether they have a need or desire to smoke” – Allen Carr
